Living plants for interiors: selection, installation and care

Living indoor plants are the finest and most luxurious way to bring greenery inside a building. Even in a northern climate, many tropical plants thrive indoors and look stunning all winter.

Living plants need light, water, good soil and careful maintenance. That is why every project starts with a daylight assessment, so we only specify plants that will genuinely thrive in that spot.

Chosen for the light

In the layout plan we pick zones that get at least 2–6 hours of direct sunlight a day, or specify grow lights running at least 8 hours a day. The exact need depends on the species.

Larger gardens and trees

For a larger indoor garden with trees, plan the irrigation system at the building-services design stage.

Less stress

Spending time among plants can lower tension, lift mood and help people relax.

Humidity and air

Plants release moisture naturally, which helps maintain indoor humidity. This matters most in winter, when heating dries the air.

Maintenance

We offer ongoing or periodic specialist plant care. If you prefer to look after the plants yourself, we hand over written care guidance after installation.

Care

Most of the large plants we supply (ficus, monstera, strelitzia) need watering about every 7 days, once the top layer of soil has dried. Avoid overwatering and cold draughts.
