Frequently asked questions about preserved plants
Answers about preserved, living and artificial plants, care, delivery and payment.
What are preserved (stabilised) plants?
Preserved plants are real, harvested natural plants that have gone through a stabilisation process: the sap is replaced with a non-toxic plant-based fluid, so the plant stops growing but keeps its natural look and structure. Branches with leaves, single leaves, blossoms, grass stems and moss can all be preserved.
How long do preserved plants last?
Preserved plants keep their appearance for 2 to 10 years, depending on the species and conditions. Moss artworks typically keep their colour for 3–5 years; preserved trees last 5 years or more.
Do preserved plants need watering or sunlight?
No. Preserved plants never need watering, misting, feeding, pruning or sunlight. Keep them out of direct sun, which slowly fades the colour, and dust them occasionally.
Living, preserved or artificial plant wall: which should I choose?
Four factors decide it: location and light, maintenance, lifespan and budget. A living wall costs the most and needs ongoing care; a preserved wall can cost about the same as an artificial one but needs no care; an artificial wall lasts indefinitely. We can advise precisely after assessing the space.
Do preserved plants smell?
New moss artworks or walls may have a faint natural plant scent for the first few days, which fades quickly. Large walls containing eucalyptus leaves can smell of essential oils for a while.
Can I order a moss artwork in a custom size?
Yes. We make round moss and preserved-plant artworks from 30 to 150 cm in diameter and rectangular pieces in any size, including LED-backlit versions. Send us the size and colours you want.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Moss artworks and smaller preserved decor ship to every EU country and worldwide. Large preserved trees and living plants are delivered and installed within Lithuania only. Walls for projects abroad are installed by individual arrangement; see also lowraininternational.com.
How long does delivery take?
The lead time is shown on each product page, usually 5–15 business days, because most pieces are handmade to order. Lead times for large trees and bespoke projects are agreed individually.
Do you maintain living plants?
Yes. For our projects we provide ongoing or periodic specialist plant care under a separate agreement. If you would rather do it yourself, we hand over written care guidance after installation.
Is there a guarantee on plants?
Living plants cannot be returned and usually carry no guarantee, because their condition depends on care and environment. However, if a plant was damaged through our fault, or arrives rotten, dry or diseased and you notice within 14 days of purchase, we will replace it.
How do ordering and payment work?
Choose your products and delivery, then press "Order" and leave your contact details – no payment up front. We will contact you shortly to confirm the order, delivery price and lead time, then send an invoice.
Do you work with architects and interior designers?
Yes. We work with developers, architects and interior designers: we coordinate with the lead designer, prepare technical drawings, and fabricate, install and maintain.
